Terms of Service

PickupLine is a service operated by Robot, DESTROY! LLC ("we", "us"). We generate personalized card messages — birthday, sympathy, thank-you, anniversary, and more — using a combination of your inputs and advanced AI. You can reach us any time at hello@pickupline.cards.

You place an order by telling us about the card you need: the occasion, the person, your relationship, a detail or two that makes it personal. You pay via Stripe. We generate a custom message — single or multiple style variants depending on your tier — and email it to you, usually within minutes.

Our messages are generated by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) working from the information you provide. A human does not manually write each card, though we've engineered the prompts and review output quality.

Prices are listed in US dollars on our site and at checkout. We use Stripe to process payments. You authorize the full charge at checkout; we do not store your card details.

All purchases are one-time transactions. We do not currently offer subscriptions on PickupLine.

If your message didn't land — missed the tone, missed the person — reply to the delivery email within 48 hours and request a refund. We'll issue one, no questions asked.

After 48 hours or if you've already delivered the card, we generally can't refund, but reach out anyway and we'll talk through it.

The card message we deliver to you is yours. Write it in the card, share it, save it, modify it. You may not resell our output as a template service, nor rebrand our service as your own.

PickupLine is intended for genuine personal cards — celebrations, condolences, congratulations, thank-yous. Please don't use it to produce content that is harassing, defamatory, or intended to harm a specific person. We have content guardrails and may refuse orders that appear to violate them.

Every message we deliver is generated by a large language model. We tune the system to produce warm, appropriate, specific card messages — but AI can occasionally miss tone or generate something that doesn't fit. You should read the message before writing it on the card and edit as needed.

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to produce messages that honor the occasion, but we don't guarantee a particular reaction from the recipient or fitness for any specific purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Robot, DESTROY! LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the 'last updated' date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated by email if we have your address on file. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Robot, DESTROY! LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
